Consuming Processed Foods is Harming Bodily Health, Organs & Tissues
It’s an unfortunate reality. Eating processed foods is the quickest road to getting sick and ultimately dying. It is the pleasure and sensation of “laboratory created foods” that has the vast majority of the developed world in all kinds of harm and hurt towards whole body health.
What’s also more unfortunate is that it only takes a couple of years, for everyone to start getting sick. That’s how lethal these substances are. What are processed foods though? We, hear this term being thrown around all the time. But how do they work and how’s come they are in 80-90% of the grocery stores around the world?
In order to properly explain the term, please bear with the following analogy here. If you buy potatoes from the marketplace or grocery store, it’s has gone through a long process to actually reach the grocery store. It’s got planted, watered, fertilized, cleaned, transported, cleaned, and it eventually reaches to the grocery store.
This food is considered to be processed. However, this food is still nutritious, natural, and healthy. It’s still the same potato. This is “natural processing.”
A processed food on the other hand is anything that has been through the use of chemicals. If the food contains artificial ingredients, colors, or any other substance that alters the food – it’s processed. This is in direct contrast to our potato analogy. Think of how a potato chip was born. All sorts of additives and artificial ingredients were added.
There are numerous reasons why processed foods is really bad for you. And, if you aren’t careful it can very well send you to an early grave. Here are some reasons.
Presence of Artificial Substances
Artificial substances are another word for chemicals. When you purchase a chocolate bar, you might think that it was grown from the ground. You might even think that it contains cocoa. Most chocolates in the United States do not contain cocoa. Instead, it is replaced by another artificial ingredient.
People who develop processed foods have a lot of leeway in what they can put inside these foods. An unfortunate reality is that they’re designed to get you addicted as soon as possible and keep on consuming it until you die. This is a blunt way of putting but it’s a harsh reality. They make more money that way.
All sorts of substances can be implemented into these processed foods. Do you even know what anhydrous milkfat is? What about hydrolyzed gelatin and maltodextrin? Did you know that there’s a whole industry centered around artificial flavors? There are designated areas in the United States to test different foods and flavors before it is released to the general public.
The manufacturers do all sorts of experiments to artificially create the flavors that enter your tongue. Did you know that these artificial flavors can actually be patented and considered a trade secret? This means that you won’t be able to assess where the source of the ingredients from the artificial flavor comes from.
You really don’t have to know where it came from. You can make a 99.99% bet that it’s a combination of chemicals that is designed to get you addicted to their products and make you buy their products constantly. And, this makes them more money.
The substances that they create have all sorts of purposes, when creating the food. This can range to the type of color that it has, how it feels for the consumer, a specific flavor, and how long it lasts. Through, the use of artificial means they can trick the human body into creating a food that doesn’t nourish you – and makes you want to keep on eating more of it.
Regulatory agencies might say that they’re safe – but can you really trust what they say? Many of these government officials are bribed by lobbyists to relax regulations on foods & drugs. There’s a reason why the EPA is considered to be stricter than the FDA. The FDA has a reputation of being very relaxed compared to the EPA. That’s some things to consider. (1)
Processed foods do not have nutritional content or fiber
It’s true. There’s little to no nutritional value to eating these foods. All they do is taste good and destroy your body further. When, these foods are developed – all valuable nutrients such as vitamins, antioxidants, and so forth – are all lost during the manufacturing process. All of it gets destroyed and lost when processed foods are developed.
Therefore, there’s no health benefits to processed foods at all. Any nutritional value is eradicated. Scientists don’t even understand the full scopes of nutrition either. It’s quite possible that there are unknown nutrients that has been lost as well.
Don’t be fooled by claims that says that it has X vitamin or minerals. 90% of the time these are outright lies – or a poor man’s version of the original thing. These are usually substances that are designed to mimic the effects of the target – but do a poor job of doing so.
It gets even worse.
Fiber plays a critical function for your digestive system and how your body sustains itself.
Fiber is difficult for your body to digest. It relies on the bacteria that resides in our body to do so. It breaks down the fiber for us and as a result, it gives health benefits to our digestive system.
It also prevents constipation as well. Taking care of your gut has been shown to improve cognition, mood, and overall well-being. These are some reasons why you should take care of your gut. (2)
Too much HFCS and Sugar
Processed foods contain a lot of sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup. Both of these substances hit consumers badly – as most consumers prefer sweet substances.
It is common knowledge that sugar is extremely bad for you. However, there are some lesser known effects as well. Did you know that sugar contains the same properties of cocaine? It is just as addictive as cocaine. Sugar can destroy your metabolism, increases your risk of diabetes, cancer, and dramatically increase weight gain. These are clearly things that people do not want.
They are designed to make us love it
Through evolution, our taste buds effectively guided us to eating foods that helped us survive. Foods that contained fat, salt, and sweetness are a primary component to why we survive today. Foods that contained these properties allowed us to get the energy and nutrients. This kept us alive.
There are certain people in the world that have a proper understanding of these mechanisms. They know every nook and cranny to how your taste buds work. They are rigged in such a way that consumers will be addicted and keep on buying more. Coca Cola is a famous example of this phenomenon. It has no aftertaste. People can keep on drinking Coca Cola without feeling sick or tired. That is precisely why it is so dangerous.
There are all sorts of experiments and operations that are being done by big corporations in order to get the money of consumers. This competition for wanting the consumer’s money, has led to incentives to be structured in such a way; to encourage foods to be developed that is addictive as possible.
People who are experienced in the art of biochemistry are compensated generously if they are good at their jobs. They are hired to develop foods that trick our bodies into thinking that this food is essential for our survival. People relied on foods that were sweet, salty, and contained fat – because these foods kept us alive. Manufacturers exploit this by implementing these mechanisms into the food that they create.
You should know by now that processed foods are bad for you. They are anything that’s been interfered through artificial means. Avoid them if you want to live a longer life.
